Fantasy Stories Podcast

For my final post of the class we were to do a podcast.  My podcast is about fantasy football and how to draft.  My podcast is entitled Fantasy Stories.  I tried to make it interesting.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

  1. I love fantasy football so much, and was wondering if anybody was going to talk about it for the podcast. It is interesting how so many people have different drafting strategies, and some people will go in and not even think about the draft. I think the competitive drive in me makes me put too much in to fantasy sports, but its all I can really do now a days since my eligibility is up. I'm hoping to get a stud RB and WR this year. Last year my team was absolutely terrible!

  2. Jayson, this is hilarious. I can't believe you mixed football and a fairy tale. Is this because you love football and are a father? So fun. I love "listen to my advice". I don't agree with your first round tho. In any league i'm in, the QB are always picked first. I think a QB is more important than running backs, and I think the demand is significantly higher for them. I agree that Jimmy and Calvin tho. I can't really argue with your placing of the RB and WR's. No way I ever agree will agree with your QB selection. I am pretty sure you are a Vikings fan, but NO AARON RODGERS!!! Are you kidding? Also, Andrew Luck top 3? I guess thats the best part of fantasy football, every person has their own opinion. I agree with almost all of your points, really cool idea. Good job.

  3. Thanks Jackson. I might have gotten the idea because I'm a father. I was just thinking that when I think of fantasy I think football and stories. We have a lot of different fairy tale books in my house. In my podcast before I start ranking players I did mention that I wasn’t going to rank any Greenbay players because I’m a Vikings fan and refuse to draft any Greenbay players. Also, I agree with you that quarterbacks do usually get the most points in a league but there are a lot of good quarterbacks out there to be drafted but there are less running backs out there and you usually need to start at least 2. If you take out Payton Manning the difference between the #2 QB (Drew Brees) and the #8 (Tony Romo) was only 96.76 fantasy points for the season. That’s only about 6 points a week. I took out Payton Manning because he had a ridiculous season last year and I don’t think he can duplicate it. You need at least twice as many RBs as you do QBs so you should draft them first. As I mentioned before there are only a few quality running backs out there so you need to pick them up as soon as you can. But as you mentioned people have different strategies and that is part of what makes it fun. Also, you never know who is going to have a killer season this year.
